Cam'Ron ft. Kanye West & Syleena Johnson - "Down And Out" 2005
Looking back at this video now and seeing Kanye West spit the hook, blows me away. Compare to now, the mega star he's become, it's amazing to see how far he's come. He's also really good at the hook.
Kanye didn't just do hook for any rapper. Cam'Ron was one of the best rappers in the early and mid 2000s.
Cam'Ron and The Diplomats was part of the rap culture, I grew up to in my teen years. Teens who grew up in the 1990s liked The Wu Tang Clan and us teens growing up in the 2000s had The Diplomats.
In that time, it seem like every week Cam'Ron and Dipset had a new song/video release. And ended up loving every single one, because they were so consistent.

This is why it's hard to find hip-hop talent. Because when you listen to Cam'Ron, his hip-hop voice is very good, but it's very basic too. Though there's something about his voice and the way he says certain things, that made us love his music. He's a total opposite to being loud or aggressive like a Kanye or Eminem would be, but Cam'Ron's voice doesn't have those aspects, though, still his voice fits hip-hop beats like a wave in the ocean.

If I had to figure why Cam'Ron is so good, probably the low, smooth, clear sound, lyrically quick and racy lyrics, that makes his music sound great. His voice is almost a beat, itself.

"Down And Out" is one of the last few good hip-hop songs, in the last ten years. I think anyone would agree that Cam'Ron and Kanye need to make another collaboration.
