Prado & Drew: Simple and Effective

Would I have loved to get David Price, or Cliff Lee, or Cole Hamels? Duh! But acquiring a player like Martin Prado, is a deal I love.

Yankees land utility player Prado from the Arizona Diamondbacks. It was a player I talked about the other day and questioned whether the Yankees would improve at second base with this player.

I can definitely see Prado getting big hits in late September. He's gonna turn out to be one of those hard nose players that this team lacks. He also gives Joe Girardi versatility, defensively.

As for the Yankees acquiring Stephen Drew, at first was surprised to see the Yankees and Red Sox make a trade, but wasn't so thrilled. But now I'm okay with it, since it was before the Prado trade.

Yankees can't get worst with Drew at second base. I could actually see him being rejuvenated coming to the Bronx. Yankees can get better at second, with this deal. Also Drew is a much improve upgrade at second than Brian Roberts.

With Prado and Drew, the Yankees add good hitting; not much power, but more contact hitters who can do damage.
