Larkin/Calderon/Dalembert: Knicks Get Deeper in Roster

New York Knicks and Dallas Mavericks are closing in a trade that would send center Tyson Chandler and guard Raymond Felton to Dallas for Samuel Dalembert, Jose Calderson and Shane Larkin to New York.

I just simply love this trade. First of all, if the Knicks wanted to be anywhere competitive, they needed to get a point guard -- and they ended up getting two. You get the 32-year old veteran in Calderon and the 21-year old Larkin, who can become something in New York.

Then they ad Dalembert, 33-year old center, whose not gonna make a big impact, but he ads size and depth in the paint. Dalembert was important player for the Mavericks in the postseason.

Buy trading Chandler, yes, they relief cap space, but the Knicks also ad depth with this trade. Knicks look a lot deeper now, before this trade.

Knicks also get the 34th and 51st pick in this trade, for tomorrow night's draft.

If you're Carmelo Anthony, does this entice you? It should, a little.

I've been a fan of Calderon since he's been on the Toronto Raptors. I love his intensity on the floor. For a team like the Knicks who needed a point-guard in the worst way, this is the perfect guy. If I'm Anthony, I would want to play with Calderon.
