Move out the way "Big Bang Theory" and "Modern Family" , because "Veep" is on the rise of becoming the best comedy show on television, today.
I just finished watching the newest episode of "Veep" which was the third episode of season 3, and it was by far their best episode. I've watched all the episodes from season 1, 2 and this one takes the cake. Now I know they're more to come, but I really loved episode three of season 3.
If you're "Seinfeld" nut, like I am, and you loved "Elaine Benes" and haven't seen "Veep" yet, I suggest you watch.
Julia Louis-Dreyfus has a lot of Elaine in her character, as Vice President "Selena Meyer". She brings that bitchy, 'don't give a fuck' mentality and sex appeal. Yes -- Louis-Dreyfus still damn fine.
Dreyfus has become one of the greatest female, television, comedy stars, of all-time. I truly feel that way. Right now, she's the queen of comedy t.v.
If I had to pick another female comedy t.v star, whose younger and on the rise, it'd have to be Julie Bowen from "Modern Family". She reminds me of a young Dreyfus.
Another reason why "Veep" is so good, is because of the cast. They have a tremendous supporting cast. Tony Hale, who you may have seen on "Arrested Development" and won Emmy this year for "Veep", is outstanding. Timothy Simons is my favorite character on the show; the the list of names on this show goes on and on.
"Veep", for the first time in my life, made me want to work at the White House. I mean, I'm sure it's not that fun, but the hectic, busyness and politics sure does look fun.
Veep is on HBO, Sundays at 10:30 ET.
